The Inspiration behind Chez Jose comes from the thousands of “fondas” scattered throughout Mexico. These small food stalls offer
simple fresh finger foods which can be enjoyed while strolling the streets and plazas. Bits of meat
and fish are quickly grilled and wrapped in war fresh tortillas. These “burritos” and “tacos” are
then dressed in a choice variety of salsas, lime,
cheeses, cilantro, cabbage and other condiments.
At Chez Jose, we stay true to the essence of the
“fonda”, but adapt it to the taste of “Norte
Americano.” Our meats, fish and vegetables are
freshly marinated with citrus juices and native
spices and grilled to make up the basic
ingredients of our tacos and burritos.
Our customers can then create their desired heat
level at the salsa bar, choosing from mildly
spicy salsa cruda to our fiery red and green
salsas.
Chez Jose also caters to the “Norte
Americano” notion that fast food can be good
for you as well as flavorful. By using only the
freshest ingredients, absolutely no lard and as
little canola oil as possible, we think we have
come up with an excellent dining alternative.
